Our

Farmer Testimonials

I am a 50 yrs old farmer small-scale farmer supplying milk at Rwemamba MCC. Having only 4 milking cows earlier, I did not have any interest to supply milk and get additional income, instead, I used it for home consumption. After motivation from Project Prosperity, I got interested in supplying milk so with their help and technical advice, I was able to construct a new crush (kind of tick-borne disease control measures) following proper tick-borne disease control. This helped me increase my milk production and so my earnings.

I am a 60-year-old small-scale farmer having only 5 milking cows. Earlier the produce was only 15 litres but within 6 months, it increased to 35 litres after I implemented an improved feeding management system. I planted Napier grass as an addition to pasture grazing. Feeding my cows at night helped a lot. I now plan to buy more cows after seeing improvement in feeding management. All thanks to Project Prosperity executives who suggested the additional feeding management system and feeding my cows at night. The results exceeded my expectations.

I am a farmer under Kashaka cooperative of progressing commercial dairy farmers. I established water distribution in each paddock by setting up small water troughs. My farmlands fall in water-logged areas. I concentrated more on fodder cultivation with supplement feeding and currently, I am getting 130 litres from only 13 cows. (productivity per cow is 10 litres/day). Thanks to the Project Prosperity initiative that gave me knowledge and guidance on improving my water management techniques I have really improved the milk yield of my cows.

Our

DDE Testimonials

I started working with PDFL 2 years back. I have obtained advanced knowledge and
understanding of the dairy business value chain ranging from dairy cow/farm
management, milk quality parameters and hygiene as well as global and national
status of the dairy industry. This has all been acquired from several training
programs organised by Pearl dairy and its partners as well as field experience. I am
thrilled to see the company coming up with such a noble cause through its Project
Prosperity initiative. This will definitely change the whole farming industry in
Uganda and beyond. I am happy to be a part of such a company that understands and
helps the farmers by going to such great lengths.

My name is Nuwamanya Patrick, and I joined pearl dairy farms limited as a Dairy
Development Executive. While on my job as a DDE, I have transformed couple number of
farmers from mere grazing of dairy cattle to rearing dairy cattle as a business. I
have successfully increased milk production at farms and boosted farmers’ income,
enabling them to advance investing in various farm improvements progressively and
above all improving their standards of living. Project Prosperity is a great
initiative by PDFL that will allow us to help farmers more significantly than before
and I truly believe that it has the potential to completely transform the
farming industry.

I joined pearl dairy farms limited as a Dairy Development Executive (DDE) 2018.
Pearl diary has equipped me with enough knowledge, skills, and support towards this
career where we have always had upscaling trainings and webinars, and this has
helped me to also do a positive impact on farm level leading to help farmers do
commercial farming targeting farm sustainability and profitability and has helped me
grow individually.
Farmers have adopted to the new farming systems we educate them but still they need
us as extension workers to always advise and also pull more that have not yet
entered into commercial farming. Project Prosperity is a great initiative taken up
by PDFL to make huge positive impact on the lives of farmers of Africa and I am
privileged to be a part of such an organization.
